These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of aText2Alfred (the “App”), a macOS application developed by fanthus (“we”, “us”, or “the developer”).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

aText2Alfred is a local desktop utility that helps macOS users migrate text snippet libraries from aText backup files (.atext) or simple CSV files into Alfred-compatible snippet bundles (.alfredsnippets or grouped .zip archives).

The App provides import, preview, selection, and export features. Processing occurs on your Mac; the App is not a cloud service and does not host your data.

2. License

Subject to these Terms and applicable App Store rules, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Mac computers you own or control, solely for lawful personal or internal business purposes.

You may not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App’s source code except where permitted by law
Rent, lease, sublicense, sell, or redistribute the App or export output as a competing migration service
Remove or alter proprietary notices in the App
Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or third-party rights

3. App Store Purchases

If you obtain the App through the Mac App Store, your purchase, billing, refunds, and subscription or license management (if applicable) are also subject to Apple’s terms and policies, including Apple Media Services Terms and the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), where applicable.

Pricing, trials, and in-app purchases displayed in the App Store are controlled by Apple’s storefront. For billing questions, contact Apple Support; for product functionality questions, contact us at fanthus@163.com.

4. Your Content and Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

The .atext, .csv, and other files you choose to import
The accuracy, legality, and sensitivity of snippet content (which may include personal, confidential, or proprietary text)
Verifying preview results and exported Alfred bundles before relying on them in production workflows
Backing up your original libraries before migration

The App processes files only at your direction. We do not review, monitor, or control your snippet content.

5. Third-Party Software Disclaimer

aText2Alfred is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by aText, Alfred, or Running with Crayons Ltd.

Trademarks and product names belong to their respective owners. You must comply with the license terms of aText, Alfred, and any other software you use alongside the App.

Migration results depend on the structure of your source files and Alfred’s import requirements. We do not guarantee that every snippet, format, attachment, or advanced aText feature will map perfectly to Alfred.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

Violate any applicable law or regulation
Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights of others
Interfere with or disrupt the App’s normal operation

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The App is designed to operate locally without sending your snippet libraries to us.

8. Updates

We may release updates to improve compatibility, fix bugs, or add features. Some updates may be required for continued use on newer macOS versions. Updates delivered through the App Store are subject to Apple’s distribution process.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
Exported files will import into Alfred without manual adjustment in every case
Migration will preserve 100% of aText-specific formatting, attachments, or advanced features

You use the App and any exported files at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $10 IF THE APP WAS FREE), WHICHEVER IS GREATER, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

11. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. We may stop offering or supporting the App at any time. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.
